The Star Wars universe is expanding with a new series, Ahsoka, which will premiere on Disney+ on August 23, 2023. The series stars Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi Padawan who is searching for the villain Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Created by Dave Filoni, Ahsoka is a spin-off from ‘The Mandalorian’ and takes place after the events of the Star Wars movie ‘Return of the Jedi’, while also serving as a continuation to the animated series Star Wars Rebels. The series follows Ahsoka Tano as she investigates a new threat to the galaxy.
Rosario Dawson reprises her role as Ahsoka a character created for the animated series ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian. Ahsoka Tano is a complex and well-developed character in the Star Wars universe. She was trained as Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan, and she grew into a powerful Jedi who survived Order 66. She has had many adventures and appeared in various Star Wars shows, but now her story is finally being told in her own show. The series will also feature characters from Star Wars Rebels, including Grand Admiral Thrawn. It will consist of eight episodes, the first two of which will premiere on August 22, 2023 .
