Peter Doherty, the British flamboyant creator of The Libertines and Babyshambles with Fréderic Lo, a French retro rock craftsman. The two met during a Babyshambles studio recording before finding themselves together working on a tribute to french singing legend Daniel Darc, piloted by Fréderic Lo. On the strength of this first collaboration, the two artists decide to embark on a somewhat therapeutic musical project. Thus was born The Fantasy Life of Poetry and Crime, an album with melodies and music by Fréderic Lo and lyrics by Peter Doherty.

In this special concert from Arte Concert, in the studio / house where The Fantasy Life of Poetry and Crime was born, the two poetic artists take us on a stroll through different rooms of this 19th century residence to introduce us to the twelve songs they created together.

Nature has carved unusual shapes out of the white cliffs in Etretat and as a result, this picturesque spot in Northern France attracted many renowned Impressionist painters who sought to capture it’s beauty on canvas. The pretty seaside town is also the setting for Maurice Leblanc’s popular French children’s book about Arsène Lupin the gentleman burglar and continues to inspire still as we see with this evocative union of talent.
